The Benefits of Using ProSteel 3D
Closely integrated with AutoCAD, Prosteel 3D is a tool primarily used for structural steel fabrication and structural steel detailing.
Precisely because ProSteel 3D is closely integrated with AutoCAD, a user can use AutoCAD commands to edit and manipulate objects within AutoCAD’s Object ARX interface. This also enables a user to work with different sizes from the very minute to the very complex.
It is also very easy to use ProSteel 3D. ProSteel 3D’s developers have made sure that the interface is easy to use, making your work faster by enabling you to see toolbar buttons, pop-up menus or trays quickly. Also, you can easily preview the changes that a particular option would make just by mousing over that particular option in the menu you have open.
Further, you can set your own steel standards with its open system. The details that you add will be added to a database that anybody can modify or edit. Additionally, you can use other popular database programs to add new custom shapes and sizes into ProSteel.
The added flexibility translates to more productivity and efficiency. Further, completing typical construction applications easily is possible. Now you can easily do aluminium and shelving, plant and steel building, equipment, heavy machinery, marine and structural steel applications!
ProSteel 3D, while using all the typical AutoCAD functionality, also adds its own set of functionalities, like:
- enabling the user to make ribs by measure, half or complete, or even diagonal ribs;
- using steel shapes and sheet metals anywhere in the work model;
- DSTV/AISC standards dictate plate, web angle connections, or customized connections;
- automatic placing of roof and wall elements on optimized surfaces; and
- ability to render 2D details with view depth, construction lines depth definition and full object selection control!
It is impossible to enumerate all the numerous functionalities.
You can also use ProSteel 3D with other third party applications related to petrochemical engineering, air conditioning, process engineering, plant construction, and architecture, among others. The open architecture in ProSteel 3D gives it the ability to allow the user to use it with other applications!
Lastly ProSteel 3D have incorporated different kinds of interfaces that are unique to different tasks. Like having a different interface unique to steel fabrication and construction. On it, you can see parts-list PPS, statistics, building components and other information.
ProSteel 3D is easy to learn and to use, especially if one is familiar with AutoCAD. This is because the program uses AutoCAD commands, primarily in modifying or editing various objects. In short, there is only a little learning curve and you save on additional training time and costs, and makes your team become more efficient and productive quickly.
