Disc Brake help please?
I have bb5 brakes for my bike and I was wondering if an avid G3 Clean Sweep rotor could work as my disc also, not just roundagon. Also, should I get a 7 or an 8 inch? I have a 6 in the back.

if the rotor is the same size (similar thickness ) and you can move the caliper to fit a 7 or 8 inch rotor then you can fit what you want. I have hydraulic brakes, with a 8 inch rotor on the front and a 7 inch rotor on the back, i would recommend for going for the biggest rotor you can fit, BUT be warned, a bigger rotor is more likely to be damaged, and it is heavier, and since it is on the wheel increases rotational weight, which is important. Although having said that, my Front Brake alone, can stop me from 35 mph in 1.6 seconds ( i took a video and watched it frame by frame, from the point i started braking to the point i stopped, some very simple physics later, and i found out that i am basically braking with a force of over 1 G) so, a big rotor, with a good caliper means a very powerfull brake, however if you are only changing the rotor, you need to consider that there is a point where the bigger rotor will not be so beneficial if your caliper is not good. Big rotor also gives more consistent stopping from high speeds when rotor is hot.
