I have my favorite components, but what are yours?
Of course, when comparing similar grades of parts… this is actually a serious question for developing 2010 model year bikes. For the sake of this inquiry, assume a bike in the $1000- $1500 range (in the UK it would be £900 – £1400 since your bikes curiously cost almost double than those in the US).
Derailleurs: SRAM vs. Shimano?
Brakes: Avid vs. Shimano?
Shifters: SRAM vs. Shimano?
Bars/stems/seat posts: Truvativ vs. Thompson?
Cranks: Truvativ vs. Shimano?
Forks: Rock Shox vs. Fox?
Shocks: Rock Shox vs. Fox?
Wheels: Zipp vs. Vuelta?
Chains: SRAM vs. KMC?
I suppose I wasn’t clear… Campy is not in the running at all. I am working on respeccing a couple of bikes in the price range mentioned and the cheap Campy is absolutely horrible.
