Whats the difference between all CrankBros clipless/egg beater pedals?
I see the all the same, but I am sure there must be some difference.
I always had the cheapest ones, the Smarty, but I see that theres the Acid, and many other modes for double or triple the price I paid.
So whats really the difference? And why would you buy them? They all clip in, so whats the difference? (OTHER THAN WEIGHT)
You have the Candy and the Candy ti pedal and it is titanium- all ti and then you have the Mallett which is for those who want the versatility of a platform pedal in a CB clip in pedal and the Acid which gives a lower weight but still a platform just in case you forgot your shoes at the trail head….the still lighter 4ti eggbeater can only be used with a rider weight of about 180 lbs maximum any more and it will break under the weight and at a price of $400 you get what you pay for at about 160 grams per pair. There is much difference in all the different types of CB pedals even though they all work the same way. I use four different types of CB pedal and will never use any other!
