Bianchi Road Bikes are made in Italy and have a long history. In fact the F.I.V. Edoardo Bianchi S.p.A is the oldest bicycle manufacturer still existing in the world, and is one of the first Bicycle makers to design and make bikes with equal sized wheels and with rubber pneumatic tires as early as 1886. Bianchi also produced automobiles between 1900 to 1940 and motorcycles from the turn of the century until the late 1960′s. Bianchi Cycles are also made in the USA California by the Bianchi USA division of the cycle makers and also produced in a cycle factory in Taiwan solely for the American market.
Bianchi Bicycles have a long pedigree with Road Racing having been made famous through the exploits of the great Italian rider Fausto Coppi who riding for the Bianchi cycle team won the Tour De France two time in the 1950′s.
The Bianchi Cycle Company has a long history as a team player in all the worlds great cycle races having first sponsored the Italian Rider Giovanni Tommasello in the Grand Prix De Paris race of 1899 a race, which Giovanni went on to win. Bianchi were quick to realise the potential of sponsorship and backing and supporting winners was a sure fire way to increase Bianchi Cycle sales. When Bianchi sponsored Italian Road Rider Costante Girardengo their bicycle sales grew by 70,000 in one year alone. Great Riders who have been associated and ridden for the Bianchi team include Marco Pantani, Jan Ulrich and Danilo Di Luca and of course the great Fausto Coppi and his arch rival of the same era Gino Bartali. Bianchi’s famous and distinctive Bianchi Celeste Colour a shade of Turquoise and sometimes known as Bianchi green is said to have originated from the colour of the Milan Sky where the Bianchi factory is still situated but other rumours state that Edoardo Bianchi first painted one of his bikes this colour for an order placed by the then Queen of Italy to match the colour of her eyes. Both are lovely legends but weather either is true is open for debate. Celeste is probably the most recognisable colour from any bike maker in the world and as such is a great advertising vehicle for the excellent Bianchi Road Bike range.
Bianchi are one of the largest producers of Bicycles in Europe and the top maker in their homeland of Italy they do not exclusively cater for the top end Road cycle market and produce bikes of all types and price ranges including Touring bikes and bianchi mountain bikes. It is however for their Road Cycles that Bianchi are famed and they are still one of the most highly rated producers of racing bikes for professional and amateur cyclists their distinctive Celeste (Bianchi Green) colour has become synonymous with Road racing history. In recent years Bianchi have embraced the latest technologies and materials and as with all top end Road Cycle makers offer many of their high end bikes in Light Weight materials such as Carbon frames and Titanium frames, lower down the range Bianchi still produce lightweight Alu-Carbon and Aluminium Frames for their bikes they also offer a full range of Bianchi componeti components for their bikes including wheels sets, handlebars crank sets and Seat posts. Bianchi Road Bikes can be bought with the Group sets of the buyers choice from top end Campagnolo Record and Shimano Dura Ace group sets to the lower end and entry level group sets offered by both Campagnolo, Shimano and the American Group Set maker SRam.
