Xerox Phaser 4400 Printer: Conventional Monochrome Printing Machine
For offices that need a high volume laser printer and that do not need to print documents in color, the Xerox Phaser 4400 printer is a good choice. It prints with good speeds and often the documents are completed before you reach the printer. It is considered to be one of the most dependable and worry free printers you can have and the 4400 bulk toner offers perfection on every page.
It works on a 266 MHz processor speed, which lets you spool large print jobs to the printer itself, allowing the printer to not need any resources from your computer. The first page prints in 11 seconds, and the printer will continue at 26 ppm. It also will render the documents in 1,200 dpi, giving you clear text and sharp images.
The printer installs easily onto any computer, and you do not need to know the IP address for the printer to have it placed on your workgroup. It connects via an Ethernet connection, and is user friendly enough that computer skill and knowledge are not required for use. If the paper or toner gets low, there is an alert that can inform that it needs to be attended to, which comes on the computer screen.
It does have a 550 sheet capacity paper tray, which is enough for a full ream of paper. It can hold 16 to 133 pound paper, from bond to card stock and they all will be fed from the tray with no additional equipment needed. It can use custom sized paper, legal paper or regular A4 papers, and there is an optional envelope feeder to make printing even more versatile.
It is a high capacity printer and does up to 150,000 pages per month. There is a standard toner, which gives you 10,000 pages, or a high capacity Xerox Phaser bulk toner, at 15,000 pages, to choose from, whichever suits your needs the best. Toners are easily found in office supply stores and are very affordable for a laser printer.
It also has extra features to make this printer easy to use. There is pop up help that will alert you to any malfunction during the printing process, and the PhaserSMART help, which will help you troubleshoot online to fix problems that arise. There are also tools to make printing easier, such as PDF direct printing as well as edge to edge printing, the latter being unique to this company.
This printer is no longer being manufactured by the company. While you can still buy it, there is a greater chance that you will have to get it pre-owned rather then new. The toners and drivers are still widely supported, so the printer is still a very viable option.
The Xerox Phaser 4400 printer is one of the best non-color laser printers you can have. It will do a variety of printing jobs and have a high output with fast speeds.
