Make Your Pick BMX Or Surfing
Right so these aren’t exactly the most often compared sports. But you might be surprised to hear there are similarities between these sports. It’s all about keeping your balance for starters even when you’re airborne you still need to stay in control. Again the culture of these sports shares multiple similarities that may not be instantly apparent. Most of the time people this of surfers from being super chilled out people but BMX riders are not far off.
You can also see some clear similarities with the clothing choices although it is true that BMX riders often go for more urban clothing. Of course surfers wear minimal clothing so it is hard to make a compelling comparison when they are just wearing billabong board shorts.
Lets get this article back on track I though the whole point was to determine which of the extreme sports was better. To be fair these sports are very different but the people taking part whether on surf boards or BMX bikes we all have the same motivations. So I don’t think it would be fair to compare the sports directly instead the people that participate every day. On the whole the culture behind various extreme sports all over the world is a need and desire to push the boundaries.
By constantly having something to reach for, such as being the first to achieve something, people continually develop and expand these sports. One thing that does differ though when it comes to the performance side of the sports is the chance of injury. Most of the time those that surf rearely get injured however is you are a BMXer you will know doubt already be aware of the pains involved with the sport. Have a quick look on YouTube and you will soon see what I’m talking about.
Finally we have to say that injuries are going to happen in sports that aim to push the boundaries at every opportunity. Use the comments to let me know which sport you favour and why you like it so much.
