Genesis Re-Introduce Road Bikes Into Their 2010 Lineup
Genesis have released the first details and images of their new line up for 2010. You don’t actually have to wait for these bikes as long as intially thought because although they are in the 2010 lineup, they are being released this September.
It looks like Genesis will be returning to the road bike market with their 2010 bike lineup. The first ones detailed are the Aether 10 and 20 which are the first of the Genesis racing bikes.
Designed mainly for daily commuters, the Aether is perfect for city travel. Both of these models will feature carbon-legged forks, as well as an ALX-9 aluminium frame. However, this comes at a price. The cheapest of the two models, the Aether 10, costs £599.99 and features quality parts from Shimano and Sora. To go for the next up model, the Aether 20, it will cost another £200 on top of the Aether 10. A mix of Sora and Shimano Tiagra parts is what makes up the bike, and the £799.99 price tag.
The next bike up on the list is the Vapour. This model features an ALX-9 6069 aluminium frame and will cost £849.99. To go alongside your lightweight frame, you also get a mix of Shimano Tiagra and Sora parts, plus a new front hanger mount, designed by Genesis to supply better braking.
The Flyer is the third bike on the 2010 lineup. This one features an extensive range of stylish features, not to mention being a singlespeed bike. The main frame is built from Reynolds 520 steel and to match the stylish frame are chrome cable clips and a white chain. This beauty of a bike will cost you £599.99, a good price for a city bike. However, this bike is missing bottle bosses, allowing you to attach bike accessories, it seems that Genesis assumes that people riding this bike don’t get thirsy or sweat through their cycle clothing.
Together with the lineup of road bikes announced by Genesis, also came a few mountain bikes. The Core is the first mountain bike in the lineup and it comes in two different flavours. The Core is available as the Core 40 for £999.99 or the Core 50 for £1,199.99.
The next one up is the Alpitude costing £1,699.99, not to be mistaken with the Altitude, features a Reynolds 853 steel frame, perfect for long trails.
If you’re looking for a relatively cheap mountain bike, the new iO is the best suitted. This bike comes in two different versions, the singlespeed, costing £599.99, or the eight-speed version for £1,099.99. Both versions feature a high quality Reynolds 520 steel frame.
The final bike is the Altitude, however, it comes in 5 different models. Built with a Reynolds 520 frame, the Altitude 00 and the Altitude 10 are the cheapest costing £799.99 for the 00 and £999.99 for the 10. The next one up in the model range and the price range is the Altitude 20. It comes with a Reynolds 853 steel frame and costs a pricey sum of £1,449.99. If we overlook the 4th model and jump straight to the impressive Altitude Ti, also the most expensive model. This one features a titanium frame and will cost you a whopping £2,799.99.
