on a 1997 toyota pickup where does the brake wire connect to the trailer wires?
the trailer plug-in has 4 wires plus a ground wire, the truck has 5 wires plus the ground wire, the 5th wire is the brake light wire. where does the brake light wire connect to the trailer plug?
When I added trailer hookups to my 97 I had to buy a conversion box (which is basically a relay/fuse box) and the brake and tail lights are on the same wire on the pigtail (plug.) When i hit the brakes the tail lights shine brighter. I got the box at Big Tex Trailers but I suspect any good trailer shop or auto electrical supply would have it and tell you what to do.
