What is the relationship between CAD and CNC machines?
im looking for detailed yet simple description on how the two are linked in the world of manufacturing.
Engineers use cad software like AutoCad to make blueprints for parts or a complete part assembly like car engine for example. The blueprints get past down to cnc programmers and then the cnc programmers write programs for a cnc machine using the information and measurements that were specified by the blueprints. Then the program gets past down to the cnc machinist and the cnc machinist sets up the cnc machine to make the parts according the blueprints.
And that’s the relationship between CAD and CNC machines.
