Can I use a road bike frame to build a cyclocross bike?
I have a road bike frame and want to build a cyclo cross bike. Can I use the road bike frame to build cyclo cross bike?
Yeah, should be plenty strong enough. However it’s the bikes design that will hinder you. Firstly it will be super racey geometry so it mighty be a bit twitchy. Also might not be to comfy as the damping by the frame probably won’t be great. Another problem will be tyre clearance stopping you running bigger tyres, especially with all the mud. Lots of people do it and it’s worth a try, see if you like it then upgrade if you get serious. Best of Luck
