Which lacquer primer should I use before painting my bike?
I want to paint my bike glossy black with some decals which I will buy from eBay. But before painting I need to use a primer, so which is primer is the best for a shiny look?
you got it right use lacquer primer first use a primer close to your paint color so if you painting your bike black use gray primer if light color use white primer then use steal wool and smooth it off. clean the primer with blast of air and tack cloth next paint it with gloss paint thin coats about 5 min apart with lacquer not thick coats. then use a clear coat right after with in 5 min after the paint coats. if you wait more than 5 min the lacquer can start to cure to fast and the next coat can cause bubbles. if your not able to do all the coats at one time wait 48 hours before you apply the clear so its 100% cured so you don’t get bubbles…keep the area dust free during paint so you don’t get it in your paint. oh you want to add decals you can after the color is dry apply your decals and wait 48hr then clear over them too it will add depth to them and make a protective coating over them too.
