E-type Front Derailleur (Bottom Bracket mount)?
Anyone suggest a way to make off shifter cable on an E-type front derailleur?
I’m using an E-type because there is no seat tube, also there are no traditional welded outer end cups.
Can outer be terminated on the derailleur direct? with an extra aftermarket component?

There should be a plastic cable guide (for the inner) underneath the bottom bracket shell. If it’s missing, you can buy new ones from a bike shop, and I’ve seen them for sale online (Nashbar, Pricepoint, or Jenson…..I can’t remember where I saw them, sorry). You should see a screw hole underneath…..that’s where you mount the plastic guide.
As for the housing (outer), you should have a cable-stop *somewhere* on the downtube (most likely near the top of it….by the head tube/fork). If not, you have two options: 1) Call the manufacturer or a bike shop dealer for your frame and ask them how it is intended to be routed. 2) Clamp-on cable-stops are available for sale, as long as they’ll fit your downtube. You could possibly mount one of those and then run the inner cable down to the bottom bracket guide. You might check out pictures of some of the Specialized brand mountain bikes….they have a lot of designs like this. Maybe that will help.

I’ve never seen a front derailleur with housing run all the way to the clamp, but who knows, maybe someone’s done that. With 10,000 front derailleurs on the market, I suppose it’s possible. What kind of bike is it?
