Hub Pages – What Are They & How They Help Drive Traffic
Though hub pages have been around for a while, not many seem to be aware of it’s potential to drive truckloads of traffic to a website. You can create a hub page easily by writing a content rich article around any subject to promote your site, blog or products and earn money through a variety of monetization strategies.
Hub page authors are called ‘hubbers’ and they regularly put up pages of content relating to their passions, expertise, experiences and views. It’s easy to create a hub very quickly by filling up small sections called capsules, which can include, images, videos, links to your website, links to social networks and RSS feeds to your blog. The quality content helps readers while the writers are benefited monetarily through revenue sharing from adsense, kontera, ebay & amazon affiliate programs and links to their blogs and websites.
Hub pages are quite similar to squidoo lenses and it’s basically just another social networking site with a lot of added benefits. Since it’s basically a content sharing website, individual hub pages are ranked based on the quality of the information and the value they provide. This makes it easy for you to rank really highly in search engine results especially when you create a well-optimized hub page focused on a specific long-tail keyword. You can drive a lot of traffic this way in addition to getting traffic and recognition from the hubber community too. You can also build quality inbound links to your site or blog that features your products and services and gain a lot of exposure this way.
Internet marketers start out creating hub pages focused on a single theme and then build a little empire of hub pages by creating more hubs on related keywords, linking them and eventually ending up with a nice little web 2.0 empire. It’s possible to do your keyword research and create a quality hub page, taking not more than thirty minutes from start to finish. The only disadvantage with hub pages is that you don’t have a lot of control of your ads and promotions. However that’s a really small detail when compared to being able to use a high-ranking service that allows you to promote your sites and affiliate programs for free. Just be careful to submit unique, original content that provides genuine value to your readers and you’ll be on your way to becoming an expert hubber earning an excellent passive income quite quickly.
