Internal Communications Will Make or Break Your Company
Communication is believed by many business experts to be the key to success. A company is made up of interacting team members all working towards a shared goal, and not a set of individuals all looking after only themselves. That said, it is amazing just how many businesses have poor communication strategies and really suffer as a result. Here are 3 of the main reasons why you want your staff talking to each other.
Enhanced Productivity. Time and time again it has been seen that the most productive teams are those that communicate efficiently and often. This is specifically due to the fact no single member of staff can own all the skills need to make a well rounded team and instead lots of people each have their own skill sets. For a company to thrive, each team member’s skills needs to be utilised and a mutual support network is needed. Team building days are a perfect example of this, where the teams who use each other’s strongest abilities perform best.
Less Harmful Office Politics. There will always be a certain amount of office politics in all business environments. It is human nature that some people just won’t get on, but bad communication only exacerbates problems and drags them out over a longer period of time. When a team comes together to address confrontations head on and candidly, they often diffuse the issue quickly and find solutions to the problem together. Additionally, this limits the chances of the same issue causing problems in future as it can be dealt with swiftly when it appears.
Happier Work Force.There are still companies around who do not like their staff talking amongst themselves.The best productivity will not come from these businesses however, as communication is a necessary for healthy humans as eating. If you are going to be at work for eight or so hours per day, it is actually very important that you talk and laugh with your colleges.
For companies suffering from weak communications, corporate events or team building activities such as corporate cookery days are a perfect way to get team members bonding and chatting to each other.
