i really need help with my rat cage!!!!?
i have this rat cage

it houses my two males and then i have this exact cage in purple that house 2 females. my friend also has this cage and one of her rats got its head stuck in between the wall and the wheel and died, i really don’t want that to happen to my babies, so i really need some ones help on how to remove the wheel!! please!! and i will replace it with a large silent spinner wheel.

i have the same wheel just allot smaller for my dwarf hamsters and the wheel comes off of the white holder so you can attach it to a wire cage or put the white holder back on if your putting it in a tank.
I would remove the wheel with a strong pair of wire cutters.
Do your rats even use the wheel? Most males don’t anyway, and none of my females ever did. So there’s no need to buy another wheel and take up extra space if they don’t even use it… If they do, however, than a safe wheel like a silent spinner or wodent wheel would be a great source of exercise.
