Unicycle…A crazy and hilarious pastime….?
Okay, so I need some help on figuring out what size of a unicycle (the tire size) I should buy. I hear that a 20 inch wheel one is good. But is that the best for beginners? Or should I get a 16″, 24″, 18″? I’m like 5’4″ if that helps at all. Thank you tons!!!
as bob A said height isnt a concern as long as the seat can be adjusted to your required height your fine.
i currently have a unicycle which is 16inches which i learnt on, they are great to learn on. but id deffinatly reccomend something bigger
bigger wheels can sometimes be harder to learn on it depends on the type of riding you want to do.
bigger wheels will provide more speed less cornering ability and generally are not built for tricks.
if you want to get a offroad unicycle the bigger wheel the easier it will roll over rough terrian,
for a street unicycle for tricks generally it is a personaly preferance however small wheels give more spinnign ability and a more nimble handling.
and for cruiser built for speed bigger is better but is deffiantly not built for jumping on or performing tricks.
i think personally having learnt on a 16inch i now find myself wanting a bigger wheel for more speed to just cruise around. id suggest for a road unicycle go for a mid size like a 20in wheel whatever size you can get close to that. will give you a nice mid range of balance between speed, stablility and corner ablility.
for offroad id go bigger as you want more stability and the ability to roll over rough terrain easier.
p.s i am 5ft 8″ on a 16inch unicycle
