How do you get sharpie of a bright yellow Cycling Jacket?
Just bought my husband a Pearl Izumi cycling jacket for Christmas. Got a dot of green sharpie on it. I’d really like it out by Christmas.
It’s one of those bright yellow ones that lets people see your coming, so it’s really noticeable.
Any ideas?
Nail polish remover might ruin any coating on the fabric if it’s acetone-based, so be sure to use the denatured-alcohol based version instead. I’d just pick up some denatured alcohol at the hardware store instead, though….since it’s a yellow jacket the dyes in the nail polish remover may stain the fabric. (Note: this is not rubbing alcohol, it’s denatured alcohol….different product.)
It should do the trick to remove the sharpie marks if you’re careful. Work on the outside of the fabric, of course….stay away from any coating on the inside. Use some q-tips (a lot of them) and blot/twirl them while damp (not soaked) with the alcohol…..try not to use them as scrubbers moving back-and-forth because that may just spread the stain. You can probably lighten it enough to where it’s barely noticeable, if not totally remove it.
You can also use some of the spot-remover type pens for laundry and they may do ok…..might even be cheaper than buying a quart of the alcohol.
