Schwinn 564 vs Giant Kronos?

I need a second bike to move around and ride for fun. I don’t want to to be too expensive in case something happens to it…stolen, accident, etc…

I found a 1989 Schwinn 564 that I went to look at yesterday. It’s in good shape. They guy will sell it for $200. It includes aerobars that I could later sell.

The second is a 1998 Giant Kronos. I haven’t gone to check this one out. It’s selling for about the same price. The size on this one should fit me.

Which is a better bike? The Schwinn is older, but it was a higher end bike. The Giant is newer, but probably lower end. Both are Aluminum frames.
I need to give the Schwinn guy an answer by tomorrow, and I won’t be able to look at the Giant before next week either. So I need to decide by tonight.

Alright I’ll wait until next week to look at the Giant. The Schwinn fits well too, by the way. I didn’t write that well.

I have Giant Iguana, Warp and Rainier and they have been working perfectly
Just make sure the derailleur is -at least- shimano deore or Lx and in good shape, same with the front derailleur. Check for any cracks on the frame.
Id go for the Giant.
