How much damage to mpg on civic hybrid if you were to change the rims? something lite like an alloy.?
i know the rims are designed for aerodynamics and are light. i can also buy many light aftermarket rims. i just want to know how much do the rims participate in the car getting 50mpg. they really are ugly and i wouldnt mind changing them lol
The rims probably won’t make much of a difference, but the tires are another matter.
Most hybrids are equiped from the factory with “Low Rolling Resistence” tires that help improve the MPG rating of the car. If you retain your tires on your new rims, you probably won’t notice much of a difference, but if you put some fat tires that are low profile, you will lose some MPG… there is no way to tell how much until you go that route….
