Bicycle seapost clamp?
I would like to do away with the quick release seatpost clamp on my bicycle & go with a more permanent one. The problem being, I do not have a micrometer. The closest real bike shop is about a 30 minute drive away. I’ll go there if need be. Is there any way to tell for sure without a micrometer. I believe it’s either a 31.6mm or 31.8 mm clamp. The seatpost itself is a 27.2mm. And the clamp I’m looking at is one made by Origin8.

“… are you compulsive by chance?” Hmmm…sometimes. I”ve had this same problem before on a different bike. Just want to replace it before it goes bad. Cheap quick disconnect clamps all go out sooner or later.

There is nothing that demands immediate repair. So plan this errand around a ride or drive you will be doing. If riding by, stop in and have them repair it. If driving by, stop in and discuss it. They will be able to lay hands on the options. Pay for them, and return the unneeded ones at some future date. You seem awfully intent on this… are you compulsive by chance?
