Tired of shopping for tires…?
I currently have Continental Cross Contact LX tires on my car, which are the original ones installed by the manufacturer. I am at 60,000 miles with them and need to get new ones. I’ve been on the phone with 2 different tire places today and neither one of them recommends this tire. The chain company recommends either a Yokohama YK525, which is cheaper than the Contis, or a Michelin Latitude Touring, which is more expensive. The local tire place is recommending a Wild Country Sport HT by Cooper, which is cheaper, but I’ve never heard of it and can’t seem to find any real reviews on it. From what I can tell, this Wild Country tire is more for big 4-wheel trucks. Does anyone have any insight or advice for me on this?? Thanks!
I can’t recommend any of those tires over the others, but for my vehicles, I’ve typically ordered the exact tires I wanted from a store like tirerack.com, then had my local dealer install them. That way I can get the tire you want. The problem w/ a local dealer is that they have a limited stock of tires and will want to sell you what ever brand they happen to have. The online ordering is a bit more of a pain, but in the end, the price is about the same, and you will get what ever tire you’re looking for.
