Is my bike the currect size for me?
I recently bought a Specialized Sirrus Elite. I am thinking of selling it because I often feel like I am riding on stilts when riding this steed.
The size is 56cm seat tube height, 57 cm top tube length.
I am 5′ 8″ in height but have a longish inseam of 32″ .
So the bike though fast, seems rather sluggish when manoeuvring about town. However it is an absolute dream on longer journeys. Seems to soak up vibrations even better than my mtb shoks.
Please give me your opinions. Is this bike too big for my dimensions?
The bike is too big for someone Your Size. In terms of inseam length the bike may not be too high, but the top tube is too long for you which is probably the reason the bike feels too big. If you bought your bike in a store, they didn’t do a proper job of fitting you for your bike. I have seen this before, stores that were more interested in selling what they have on hand than in selling the customer what they need.
