Would it be possible to cut the rear triangle off a mtb and attach afront suspension fork ?
I ask ‘cos I saw one and I was curious to know if and how it is possible.
I am trying to imagine how that would work.
Even if you managed to somehow attach the fork to the frame after cutting off the rear triangle, the wheel spacing would be way off which means that the rear wheel wouldn’t fit and the chainline would be waaaay off.
That being said, when I was 11 or 12 years old I took a Schwinn Stingray frame, cut off the rear end, smashed the ends of the chainstays and bolted them back onto the Bottom Bracket, then took a motorcycle coil over shock and attached it to the seat stays and to a gusset I brazed into the main triangle (my dad taught me brazing and machine works very early on)…worked about 3 bounces but I learned the importance of proper bracing and shock geometry.
