Is it possible to find out what year my trek 4100 mtn bike is from?
I completely forgot when I bought this bike and was wondering if there was a way to find out. Also I was wondering if trek may have a certain area they put a serial number on it or something?(to remember in case my bike ever gets stolen and the cops need something to help prove it’s mine)
Also how do you know when you should change out the tires?
The serial number is usually on the Bottom Bracket part of the frame between the pedals. Write it down and take pictures of the bike. You can register it with the national bike registry.

Change the tires when they get worn down or if they get damaged and the cords show through.
