should I use sintered brake pads on the original discs?
I have a Honda Hornet 600 (2002 model) and still have the original brake pads and disc fitted. Now that I need to replace the pads, I wonder whether it is a good idea to install sintered brakes pads instead of standard pads.
I have heard that using sintered pads with standard discs may cause the discs to wear out fast. What do you recommend?
If you never ride in the rain, then go with the organic type pads to reduce disc wear. If you ride in the rain, then get the sintered pads because they work equally well wet or dry. All the organic pads I’ve tried are useless when wet. You have to apply lots of pressure and all you get is a bunch of moaning, groaning and shuddering as you very leisurely come to a halt.
