She Decided To Bake A Lemon Cake
She couldn’t seem to find the recipe for lemon cake and cake decorating books with instructions for the cake that was her mother’s favorite. She really wanted to serve it at the picnic. She smiled, glancing out at the new patio set with its umbrella and six chairs. It was the perfect color blue to match the gray brick patio they had finished last summer.
She loved the petunias and pansies this year. They were incredibly bright. It didn’t take all that long to plant them along the side of the patio either. It only took scooping them out of their little plastic containers and planting into the soft ground. They came in little plastic cartons, similar to egg cartons.
The blooming flowers and the neatly trimmed grass were perfect. Watered and trimmed bushes added to the scene. It would be a perfect family reunion out on the patio. She wanted to show her family all the improvements they had finished in and out of the house.
Closing the garage door, she hopped on her Schwinn mountain bike for a trip to the grocery store. She put on her large backpack that she used for carrying groceries. She often rode her bike to the grocery store. It saved gas and was good for the environment too. She thought about the lack of green space in many parts of the country.
She was dedicated to recycling, composting and buying products that came in recycled paper and plastic materials. Already she was discovering bags guaranteed to degrade within a certain number of years. Some new plastic degradable materials had been around for a long time now.
The manufacturers might research a biodegradable plastic to sell all those containers of water in. Everyone carried a bottle of water around. It was especially important to stay hydrated while bike riding.
She smiled at the memory of shopping and buying mountain bike. She loved the speed and lightweight of this bike. On weekends they loved to go out riding which included uphill rides. It was so much easier now. Her emerald green bike matched her helmet perfectly. She wore large sunglasses and some sunscreen too.
She tried to be health conscious. She tried to save the planet and contributed to the humane society. She believed in adopting a shelter dog and hated puppy mills with a passion. Spay, neuter your pets and avoid purebreds from puppy mills at all costs. She and Betty White had a lot in common when it came to animals, she mused on the rest of the ride to the grocery store.
