Can you use a Power Plate after having a Hip Replacement 1 1/2 years post op?
Surgeon now moved to another country – so cannot contact him to ask. Been on Internet but cannot find a definitive answer.
I don’t know if all that vibrating will hurt or help. If I correctly understand the theory behind doing exercises on a vibrating surface, I don’t think it would be harmful since you have fully recovered. Since your surgeon has left the area, you may be looking for a new surgeon to do the usual follow-up exams (I had my follow-up appointments at 1 year, then 3 yrs later, then 2 years after that). Your next appt. with a new surgeon would be a good time to ask his advice on the matter. Until you have a new ortho surgeon, you could also seek the opinion of a physical therapist on the appropriateness of this kind of exercise for you.
