Is there a big difference between MTB crank and a Road Bike crank?
I am building a bike… it is kind of a cycle-cross style. I have a MTB crank I can use… I was wondering if there would be a big difference between this and a road bike crank? I am not a racer I do it more for fitness and fun. Thanks 
As far as interchangeability goes, my road bike and XC race bike both use the same Bottom Bracket.
Same spacer configuration on both bikes so, for all practical purposes my cranks will interchange. So I’m sure this could be done, but then you have the shifters, derailleurs and pull ratios to contend with.
