How To Look After A Wooden High Chair
The great thing about wooden high chairs is the fact that they are strong and sturdy and stylish enough to complement any home. However you have to make sure you maintain your high chair well with these tips so that it serves you and your baby a long time.
- Regular cleaning of your wooden high chair is very important and should be done whenever you clean your dining table. The tray and the seat of the chair should be wiped down after each meal and a thorough clean of the chair should be carried out once a week.
- If there is a plastic tray with the chair then you should either hand wash this or put it in the dishwasher but don’t leave it to soak.
- Never let water sit on the tray or leave wet items to sit on this tray as it can be damaged by moisture.
- Carry out regular cleaning of the grooves on the high chair at least once every week.
- If you can buy a spare seat cover for the chair then do so because this will allow you to use one while washing the other. If you notice that the chair has started to lose its sheen then you can always polish up the wooden parts of the chair.
- Don’t clean the tray with furniture polish. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth is a better choice. You should then rinse the tray with clean water and dry it with paper towel.
- Your wooden high chair could become unsafe if there are loose bolts, screws or any other problems so you need to check for these frequently.
- Tighten all loose screws, re-glue any loose spindles using wood glue and replace the chair’s safety belt’s buckles if required.
- Make sure that you clean out any crevices in the chair seat because bacteria can harbor here.
