Gettig Inexpensive HP Ink Cartridges
So, you, like so many others have grown tired of paying the ridiculously high prices charged for new HP ink cartridges. Perhaps you have even found yourself holding out between that “empty cartridge” warning and the dreaded shopping trip, but fear not. There are ways to save, even on Hewlett-Packard ink cartridges.
The first and most comfortable option for some is to simply stick with HP ink cartridges, but begin to “shop around”. Just like any of the many different products on the market, prices can be wildly different based on a number of factors, not the least of which is the supplier. One of the best places to start your “best price” hunt is www.google.com/products. This URL, like many others, has made the work a lot easier for you. It will display a list of suppliers and vendors along with their prices, and even offer sorting options, based on what you enter into the search query.
Although this may save you a little, more savings could be achieved if you consider buying in bulk at stores like Sam’s Club. Buying in bulk will reduce the costs for the manufacturer, and as a result, it will usually be cheaper for you per cartridge.
Another way to save money on HP ink cartridges is by buying refill kits. Refill kits can be bought online or in select ink supply stores. Refill kits can vary both in the price and in the amount of it comes with. As such, some thoughtful price comparison is recommended. You can find them online if you like shopping online. Just search for the HP ink cartridge number followed by ink refill kit, e.g., “93 HP ink refill kit”. Kits like these should include an instruction manual of some kind, but even if it doesn’t, how-to guides can be found online, and so can the potentially even more useful instructional videos. The principle is fairly basic. You are asked to punch holes in the ink cartridge (usually, and preferably, with a provided tool), and then to use a needle (again, usually provided) to slowly fill up the ink cartridge with fresh ink. Once the cartridge is filled, as long as it is not overflowing, the holes can be re-sealed using covers (they sometimes come with refill kits) or just some tape. Then you can put the cartridge back into the printer.
If HP ink cartridges are just too costly, but you fear the thought of opening up ink cartridges to try to refill them, then you may want to think about either compatible ink cartridges or official remanufactured ones. There are some great third party brands that make cartridges that are designed to work with many HP models. One way to find such things is to search for a term like “HP 97 compatible” in a price comparison site, possibly one like the one that we talked about earlier. It’s a similar story for remanufactured ink. Companies that sell remanufactured ink cartridges will take used cartridges, clean them, and fix them (if any part of it is actually broken). Then the cartridge is refilled and sold at a significant discount when compared to the brand new cartridges.
Another option, perhaps less ideal is to consider is to purchase a new printer. Unlike the still-rising quality levels, printer prices have dropped significantly in the past few years. Since there are companies out there that sell ink cartridges at much more reasonable prices, one of those company’s products could be more desirable for you.
Whether you stick with the HP brand to the end, completely ignore it from here on out, or do something inbetween, you’ll have more money for your groceries while continuing to print everything you need to at home. Believe it or not, HP ink is within your reach; and your budget.
