Remanufactured Ink Cartridges or Ink Refill Kits?
Ink is costly. It seems as though prices everywhere never go down, but they always seem to go up. When remanufactured ink is inexpensive, why would you pay more for brand new ink cartridges? Another way to save money is by using an ink refill kit, though these do it yourself kits can result in a large mess if you don’t carefully follow the instructions.
If you have a printer, and you use it at all, you know how quickly the ink supply can run out. You could buy three brand new printers for the same amount of money you’re going to pay for new ink cartridges every time you need a replacement.
Remanufactured ink cartridges provide a reasonable alternative to expensive brand new ink cartridges. Many users say they work better than the more expensive cartridges. You should, however, research the company you purchase the remanufactured ink from as not all dealers are alike. Unfortunately, not all companies are going to put full effort into making sure that the quality of the remanufactured cartridges are as high as possible. Make sure the seller is willing to refund your purchase in the event that you aren’t satisfied.
Remanufactured ink cartridges should go through rigorous testing after they have been restored to their original condition, or as close to it as possible, all before they are sold to anyone. The seller, or his/her representatives, should not hesitate to answer any of your questions. It is important to know for sure that the cartridges are professionally remanufactured.
Using remanufactured ink cartridges also helps the environment, which is definitely a plus. Evidence suggests that every remanufactured ink cartridge that is sold saves some amount of oil and, of course, keeps that many ink cartridges out of landfills.
Some have said that, in addition to offering the most savings, ink refill kits offer the flexibility and convenience of being able to refill your ink cartridges at home whenever you need to. Most kits include all the tools and equipment necessary to help you in the refill process. Each brand of printer has its own ink refill system available: Canon, Epson, Hewlett-Packard, and Lexmark, to name a few.
Refill kits come with instructions for a reason: there are steps to follow to place the ink refills in their proper places and containers. It can be somewhat difficult and potentially very messy if you don’t know what you are doing. Many people find it necessary to use “dots” to help seal the hole in the cartridge back after a refill. If you don’t seal the hole completely, it could prove to be dangerous for your printer. Due to the fact that spilled ink can damage the internal parts of a printer, it is always advisable to be very careful while refilling ink cartridges. There are many possible accessories including, but not limited to, bottom fillers, filler clips, rubber seals, and foam extractors. Some sites will refill your cartridges for you, saving you the hassle.
Remanufactured ink cartridges or ink refill kits have been estimated to save you about 50 percent from the price of a new cartridge. Another great way to make your cartridge last longer is to keep the printer head clean.
