what is the best way to restore the nap on a suede seat of a western saddle?
I am putting my saddle up for sale in a consignment shop. I tried to use a suede brush to spruce up the seat, but it left a “scratchy” effect instead. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Presumably the “suede brush” was brass bristle. It will raise the nap on suede, and leave it scratchy if used too vigorously. What you need is a pumice stone like the ones for your feet. Use gently, in a circular motion. With suede brush and stone, be careful NOT to cut or ‘pick’ the stitching on the Saddle Seat.
