Every year when spring chases the rain and snow away, we all start thinking about summer, what to wear, and what fitness and beauty products we need now that the long winter is over at last. Self tanners top the list.

I hope you’re not still using a tanning bed or lying in the sun to get a tan, because nothing could be worse for your skin! Skin cancers are turning up in younger people all the time because of all the tanning that went on during the 1980s and 1990s. There is no excuse now; everyone knows the sun is harmful to your skin.
Fortunately, you have a lot of options when it comes to fitness and beauty products like self tanners.
Spray-On Tan
The most expensive option is to go to a self tanning studio and get a spray-on tan. The advantages of this method is that the tan will be very even, because you will be sprayed nude, and you can lift your arms and adjust your legs so every little wrinkle gets tanned. The disadvantage is that it looks fake. After all, whose inner arms are naturally the same color as their upper thighs?
However, like artificially implanted breasts and surgically stretched skin, the fake version of the suntan is starting to be accepted as “looking” like the real thing, because so many people have done it and you see it all the time on TV. Another disadvantage is that this tan is the most expensive option. However, it will be done right, and it is the easiest option.
Spread-On Tan
Self tanning lotions have come a long way from the days when they turned your skin a ghastly shade of orange and left streaks down your legs. Today they are one of the best selling fitness and beauty products of the summer. Tanners can choose from lotions or foams. Most products are tinted so you can see exactly where you have already put the lotion and where you need to put more.
Towel-On Tan
Tanning towelettes are the ultimate in fitness and beauty product convenience. They come in a sealed pouch and contain just the right amount of tanning product for two arms, two legs, or an arm and a leg! The product spreads more easily, and your skin gets super moisturized in the process.
Words For The Wise
With tanning products, like other fitness and beauty items, test them first on an inconspicuous patch of skin and wait 24 hours to make sure you don’t react unexpectedly to the product. Before self tanning, exfoliate your skin for even and long-lasting results.
