Priest Guide – Why Roll A Priest
If WoW is the real world and you have to pick a class, what would you pick? Would you be a Warrior that wades into the battle armed with just your two-handed sword and your might and valor? Would be a Death Knight that annihilates its enemies with nothing but its raw power? Or would you be a Priest on the sidelines, healing the wounded and resurrecting the dead? There are limitless possibilities but in this Priest guide, you will know why the Priests make for a sensible choice.
{The Priests, Who Are They?}
The Priests, no matter the build, remain to be the pilot healers in WoW. They have a lot of heals at their disposal, enough to make them a class of their own in terms of healing. They are on top of every healing class in WoW, surpassing even the healing abilities of the Restoration Shamans and the Holy Paladins.
But to think that the Priests’ abilities are limited to just healing, restoration, and protection is mistake that sent many foes to their graves. Priests are also made to inflict terrible vegeance on their foes by calling on the Holy Light or the Shadow. They are also capable of damage dealing.
To top these off, the class are also capable of buffing their allies, dispelling buffs on their enemies, dispelling debuffs on their allies, healing and resurrecting their fallen comrades and of course deal terrible damage on their foes. Because of their wide range of abilities and talents, they are often a very sought after member for any group.
Priests seem to come from a more varied selection of races than all other classes in WoW. The Night Elf, Worgen, Dwarf, Draenei and Human are the races that can follow the Priests’ path. The Horde races that can roll the Priests are the Blood Elf, the Tauren, the Troll, the Goblin, and the Undead.
{Priest Talent Trees}
The Priests’ talents are split between three different schools – the Discipline, the Holy and the Shadow. Each of these could dish out abilities that make them capable of impressive damage mitigation, massive offensive damage, and of course, healing.
{Discipline}
No other tree can dish a more impressive array of talents for single target healing single than that of the Disciple Priests’. Disciple Priests also make for great tankers although they are often limited by their cloth armors. Among the top talents you should get from this tree are the Power Word: Fortitude, the Reflective Shield, Rapture and Penance.
{Holy Priests}
The Holy Priest is the epitome of the healing powers in WoW. The Holy Priests serve as the lifeline for most teams – they provide the needed buffs and healing spells. Among the best talents to get from this tree are the Improved Renew, the Improved Healing, Circle of Healing, and Guardian Spirit.
{Shadow Priests}
The Shadow talent tree is the DPS side to the class. If you’re looking to solo your way up to level 80 or if in raids there is a sufficient healer around, this is the way to roll. You can also do some really good buffs and healing spells on the side after all you’re still a Priest.
