91 chevy g20 hard to shift with shifter?
i have a 91 chevy g20, that when i go to shift from park to drive or reverse or lower gears its hard to shift i kinda have to put some muscle into it is there a way to fix that and where or how.
To check the transmission, set the parking brake, remove the shift linkage and run it back and forth. If it moves relatively easily then your problem is in the column. It may be that you have binding in the steering column. Check the body to frame mounts to see if they are bad or missing. Sometimes due to body mounting issues, the vehicle body can put pressure on the column making shifting difficult
