Shimano Revoshift for a 3 x 7 from the early 90ies?
I need to replace my old shifter, which is an old Deore LX thumbpushing system for my 3 x 7 (with derailer). I’ve been looking at Shimano Revoshifter. Can I use this system? What do I need to look out for? Would this be inferior to a new Deore LX Rapidfire system? I currently have brakes and shifters seperately and want to keep it that way.

Revo is an OK shift system. And as long as you match a 7×3 with the same it will work correctly. The cog and chainring spacing has not changed so you’re good to go. The LX rapidfire would be better but you’d be fine with the revo.
