Can i use this first type of quick release chain link (originally for single speed) on a multi-speed bike?

Can I use the FIRST type of chain link on a multi-speed chain?
My original chain has the second type of quick release and only that part broken (the rest of the chain is in almost perfect condition [i measured it 
]. The problem is that i found only the first type of quick release 
to buy…

ask a bike shop though
