I have just replaced the rear cassette (Deore), rear derailleur (LX), crankset (XT) and chain, (sram).?
I can not seem to get the bike adjust to where it will not skip in the 2 tallest gears in the back. The XT rings change like a dream and I can not seem to get the back dialed in. Help!!!
Hm. 4 things to check first… might sound dumb but we have to start somewhere:
1) Does the cassettte have the same number of cogs as the original? If not, does the shifter match the number of cogs?
2) Since you have a Shimano rear derailleur, do you have Shimano shifters? SRAM shifters with a Shimano derailleur would cause what you are experiencing.
3) Is the derailleur of sufficient capacity to handle the range of cogs? You didn’t mention which model of LX derailleur and how many teeth your largest cassette cog has.
4) Is the chain length correct? Shift to the smallest chainring and smallest cog. The rear derailleur cage should be holding a vey slight tension on the chain- maybe enough to move the cage 1 link in distance.
Check this stuff out and post your findings.
