Sony Introduces High-speed SDX4-200C, AIT 4 Backup Tape Technology For The Demanding Business Enterprises
AIT advanced intelligent tape is a High Performance storage format with high speed, durability and high capacity. It was developed by Sony. It is built tough to compete against DLT, LTO, DAT/DDS, and VXA formats. AIT uses a storage cassette which is similar to video 8. AIT-4 tape provides a long term upgrade path with backward media compatibility, thus providing a stable backup platform. The AIT tape drives can read and write to multiple generations of AIT tape media.
