Scaffolding Towers Evaluation: The Miniscaff Folding Scaffold Tower
Scaffolding towers are important adjuncts for many trade, industrial, and even DIY applications. A scaffold tower often is a better (and safer) choice than a ladder because it’s more stable and can support more weight. Within a commercial or trade atmosphere, these towers enable employees to go up and come down securely, even if transporting equipment and supplies. Completing tasks on a scaffold tower is not as tedious as doing so from a ladder, and the odds of perilously overextending yourself are slim. There are also toe boards and handrails on scaffold towers; meanwhile these items aren’t found on ladders. Here’s some information about a popular model, the Miniscaff folding scaffold tower.
Scaffolding Towers: Details on the Miniscaff Folding Scaffold Tower
You can enjoy a level of safety on a scaffold tower that you can’t with a ladder. The Miniscaff is crafted from steel tubing (with a diameter of 2″) and can withstand as much as 275kg on the top platform. The top safe weight includes both the operator and his or her tools and equipment. Included with the Miniscaff is a 1-piece folding toe board set. This tower is especially easy to erect and disassemble, which helps save time and labour. It breaks down into a manageable size that fits easily into an estate car or a small van. To make putting it together easier, it uses red and blue colour coding.
Scaffolding Towers: Characteristics of the Miniscaff Folding Scaffold Tower
The platform of scaffolding towers like the Miniscaff can be used alone or increased by adding additional lifts, which in turn will give more platform heights. One more important feature is the tower’s adherence to the essential BS1139: Part 6 1994 standard for partially put together tower scaffolds. It also conforms to the HD1004 standard (sometimes known as BS1139: Part 3 1994). The standards are pan-European – and are established standards that all European countries embrace. The components include a folding base unit, frames, guard rails, hatch decks, horizontal braces, diagonal braces, toe boards, stabilisers, and lockable castors.
Scaffolding Towers: Some Technical Specs of the Miniscaff Folding Scaffold Tower
Unlike many other scaffold towers, the Miniscaff is reasonably priced at about £700. It’s working height is 5.6m, it’s platform height is 3.6m, and it’s 1.8m in length. Because it’s so narrow, it’s also no trouble to store away. It supports a working load of 275kg on each platform (a total of 950kg for each tower). Make sure all the pieces of the tower are in good working order before assembly. Change out any defective or unsuitable pieces. If the tower should be damaged while in use, stop work immediately. Do not use the tower until it is repaired. Make certain the tower is sitting on a flat, solid, even surface. Adjustable legs are to be used for levelling. Outriggers should always be deployed when required.
