Garmin 305 Forerunner – GPS Watch With Heart Rate Monitor
The Garmin 305 Forerunner is a great running tool. It gives you instant feedback and lets you track your workouts. The Garmin 305 provides a complete solution for monitoring, analyzing, storing, and sharing a wide range of workout data. Its built-in GPS capability (including a high-sensitivity receiver that works well even under tree cover or in urban environments) keeps track of where you went, how far, and how fast, with no wires to clutter a bike, and no gadgets to place in a running shoe.
Over the years, Garmin has recreated some of the best monitors available and shown the world a glimpse into the future of heart monitor technology. The Forerunner 305 improves on the 205 model with the addition of heart rate alerts you can make for yourself. This will provide you the ability to reach a certain heart rate that you are exerting for, especially with the ebb and flow of your routine. When you are outside these preset limits (over or under), the Forerunner 305 will notify you.
The Garmin 305 is a serious tool for runners, cyclists, and other athletic types. This gadget is ideal for the person who wants a tool that can help to effectively monitor the results of workouts. It will alert you if your pace is falling behind. Using the lap-average pace presentation will be useful for you. You can compete against your previous workouts for constant self-improvement. Not only does it record distance accurately, you can have it alert you when you have covered the distance you desire, thus freeing you from having to only run where the distance is already measured. This allows you to just take off running anywhere you want to go. The heart rate monitor seems to be very accurate and this helps in determining improvements in your physical conditioning.
The Garmin 305 Forerunner fits very nicely and securely into its cradle, which doubles as a charging cradle as well as a data interface cradle, kind of like a docking station. Garmin has been outfitting their devices with USB connectivity and the Garmin 305 integrates seamlessly with the Training Center software and we quickly had workout history uploaded and stored on the computer. The amount of data which is available is astounding and up to twelve data fields give you instant feedback on your workout. A cadence monitor, purchased separately, lets you track bike performance data.
What about battery life in Garmin 305? With all new devices comes the issue of battery life. Battery life in Garmin 305 device is up to 10 hours when excluding the heart rate monitor. This should be more than enough for most runners, because there will not be many who would need more than that. Most runners should find it sufficient for several trips or workout. Those who will be charging the device on regular basis should not worry about running out of juice.
