Do the treads on mountain bike tires add to the grip in the dry?
Are they like motor racing tires, where slicks give the best grip on a dry track? Are the treads merely to disperse rainwater? What effect does the tread have on friction (acceleration, uphill traction, braking and cornering) and rolling resistance on a dry dirt track, or a dry road?
Too many questions, I count 10 or so.
I’ll answer the first, no, or only to a small extent.
