Shimano Alivio Rear Derailleur Vs Sram X.4 Rear Derailleur?
Which is the ultimate winner
Hard choice. My wife has an Alivio rear derailleur on her ’04 KHS Town and Country DLX and it shifts extremely well. I’ve heard many good things about SRAM as well. These two seem to be on par with one another, but the performance of your derailleur is more in the shifters than anything else. An Alivio with XT or XTR shifters will shift like an XT or XTR derailleur. Same can be said about a SRAM X.4 rear derailleur with X.0 shifters. Most people are sold on the hype of a higher level derailleur but unless you race (which neither of these components are designed for) durability shouldn’t be an issue with either. The only choice you really have is which one you like better aesthetically.
