Looking for Promotional Models for new clothing line…?
I am new to the business and currently setting up an online store that will sell t-shirts and accessories designed to cater to the skateboarding and bmx communities. We will also sell vintage rock shirts, mostly 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s metal. What I’m looking for are people to model the shirts to be used as advertising on the website and online store…My questions are: where can I find these models and what is the going rate for this type of work? Any information or input would be great!
You should check out Threadless (www.threadless.com). They use everyday people as models, with great success. So ask your friends! That’s what we did for Status King (www.statusking.net and Status King on Facebook). BTW, if you do affiliates for t-shirt sales, then say so on the Facebook wall of Status King and I’ll put a good word in for you there (Status King sells t-shirts through their store, as well as affiliates, so it might be a fit).
Especially with your market, you’re not looking for super models, you’re looking for interesting-looking rock-types, just like the people you sell to. Just make sure you have an excellent photographer, that is really key, and try and find really unique settings.
