I have a casio exilim ex-z77 i dropped it on accident and the screen is All White. Can it be fixed?
I dropped it and all the screen is is white.
i can turn it on and if push the take picture button it takes the picture but when you check the pictures they are all black.
what can i do?
Unfortunately, though it can be fixed, unless it is covered under some kind of accidental damage warranty, it might not be worth fixing. It sounds like more than just the LCD is damaged – it may also be the imager itself inside since you’re saying the pictures are all black. It’s a camera that retails in the $180 range and it will likely cost you $50 just to get it looked at, let alone parts (LCD screens tend to be $70-ish and imagers are about $100) and labor. Also, if you don’t have a place local and need to ship it somewhere, that shipping is added to the bill.
Sorry if that’s not the answer you were hoping for, but that’s probably the situation.
If you do buy a new camera, check out a place that sells repair master warranties. Repair master offers warranties on small portable products like this that include accidental damage coverage and they’re pretty reasonably priced. There are other warranty companies that do also. Some can even be purchased from places even if you bought the camera elsewhere.
