When on birth control, can you get pregnant on the 7 yellow pills for the week you’re getting your period?
I’m on Seasonique, and at the moment I’m taking the 7 yellow pills at the end of my cycle, you know, the week when you’re supposed to be getting your period. Well I had sex, and now I’m worried that you’re not supposed to when you’re on these types of pills. Please help!
For most birth control pills, including Seasonique, there is an effectiveness of 99% when used correctly. This effectiveness also counts for the days you take placebo pills (the yellow ones). There is always a chance you could get pregnant while on the pill but as long as you are taking them EXACTLY as directed then the likelihood of pregnancy is slim (<1%).
